Common Assessments Used in Neglected or Delinquent Programs

This is a summary of pre-post tests and assessments used in neglected or delinquent programs across the country. This summary is based on information provided by 29 States during the spring of 2006.

NDTAC has not conducted a formal review of any of these tests, nor does the provision of this information imply endorsement by the U.S. Government. Before selecting any test, States should evaluate the options on their own to determine:

  1. That a test is designed to be administered as a pre-post assessment
  2. That a test is designed to assess reading and mathematics skills (as appropriate)
  3. That a test is appropriate for the student population served

For more information on how to select a pre-post test, please refer to NDTAC’s Guide to Selecting and Using Pre-Post Assessments.
